I’m proud to bring my long-standing customer favorite “painted black” teacore leather to a new medium - Natural Horween Horsehide. This incredible teacore leather is paired with a BRAND-NEW buckle, developed specifically for this belt. It features a blackened brass finish that ages in harmony with the leather, revealing the brass core over time in a teacore‑like fashion. As the coating wears, the brass first comes through in a copper‑tone glow, and I expect that with further patina the deeper gold‑tone brass will begin to emerge as well.
The hardware is secured with my own blackened brass stamped rivets, which will patina right alongside everything else - the perfect fastener for The Ultimate Teacore Belt.
Horween’s horsehide averages around 9oz, with natural variation throughout. Despite being relatively thin, it’s unbelievably durable, stiff, and tough to cut. Customers who purchased my previous horsehide belt release consistently tell me it’s the best leather they’ve ever owned. The teacore treatment adds another layer of interest: as the black surface coat wears, it slowly reveals the rich brown “tea” core beneath. In addition to the teacore effect, the leather develops a glossy sheen over time - one of the most satisfying patinas to watch unfold.
I’ve been testing this belt for the past year, on and off, and the photos tell the story - day one alongside my new TCB 50’s jeans, and today on those same jeans. This is my favorite belt I own, bar none. Watching the leather and hardware age in perfect unison is endlessly satisfying. My personal belt is stitched (which I can do upon request), but the default construction is riveted, which I feel is the superior choice here.
