Santalum and I are so proud to reveal our fourth official collaboration, PTC X Santalum Collab 4 - The Hand Marbled Service Boot.
These are without a doubt one of, if not the most special pair of boots I've ever handled. Santalum has gone above and beyond with pushing the boundaries of cool, while maintaining a truly classic vibe. With all of my Santalum collaborations, I have always strived to create a boot that is not only different than what's out there, but is also very wearable.
Santalum has pain stalkingly developed their own hand marbled dyeing process for this collab. Beginning with locally sourced Natural Vegetable Tanned Leather, they start the process by hand. No two boots will be exactly alike because the marbling is done to the leather before it's constructed. After the marbling process, the leather is then hand glazed, creating a beautiful glossy and shell cordovan-esque quality.
The leather isn't the only thing that's different from my collabs 3 and 3.5; I've shortened the shaft by 1 eyelet, which in my opinion, helps balance the design of the boot and further increases the wearability factor substantially. I've also opted to use a stacked low block heel instead of the woodsman heel. I feel that these changes really help maintain those classic vibes while keeping the boots wearable.
Veldtschoen construction has been nixed in favor of a 270 degree stormwelt, giving the boot a slightly chunkier appearance that complements it's very refined qualities like the glazed leather and brogued cap toe.
This is my first collab to use soles from Dr. Sole, and it definitely won't be my last. The green Supergrip half sole pairs perfectly with the natural stormwelt and the green and vegtan marbling on the leather.
I am enamored with these boots and can't express just how honored I am to add this as my most recent collaboration. I feel like I need to apologize to the rest of the gorgeous boots in my collection, because these are instantly new favorites and they probably won't be leaving my feet much.
As for belt pairings, I will personally be alternating between brown tarnsjo, and green sedgwick.
Collab 4 will be an open pre-order which will begin either at the end of the year or beginning of next. Pricing is to be determined.
